"Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka which is a very young charity born and based in London, warmly welcomes and congratulates the launch of Contact Sri Lanka, comprising young, talented and dedicated Sri Lankan born expatriates and their friends who offer much to their motherland and newcomers to the UK in information, advice, help and publicity to all who need and want it on line-and free of charge. You cannot be more generous than that!
I was quite inspired by charming young Ruwini Dharmasiri, International Officer of Contact Sri Lanka and her associate Miriam Razak, Director, whom I met by chance at a social function offering their organisations services to one of the oldest Sri Lankan charities established in the UK to promote its activities.
Time is the most expensive commodity in this modern day and age. Having lived, worked and raised a family of three children and three grandchildren for the past three decades in the UK and abroad, I value time as the essence of human life.
So it was indeed very refreshing to find this young group of well educated, dedicated, enthusiastic and patriotic Sri Lankans living in the UK offering their time, talents and expertise to help our Charity in its infancy, to promote our mission and vision internationally to help those handicapped children back home. Contact Sri Lanka has generously offered to create a website for us. This is something rare as the precious gems of Sri Lanka.
We cannot change people’s destination, but we can share their journey and lighten the burden of many by our caring. That's exactly what Contact Sri Lanka.co.uk has achieved for all Sri Lankans and all who need their services.
